    Polls are pointless
And now everyone say "no duh!"
Got a call on my house line last night asking for my wife. I told the person she was out (she was). They said "that's ok, we are just taking a poll and if you are her husband you can answer for her".
Senseing blood in the water I took up the challenge.
(for those who don't know me, I come from a long line of smart arses)
The questions were about Carli, Meg, Barbi and Jerry.
And I was all over the map answering them.
But I answered truthfully for the day before the wife and I were discussing the elections and we both view things the same (we are both centerists and strict Constitutionalist).

The person thanked me for my time and asked that I promise to tell anyone who asked that it was my wife who answered the questions and not I.

Which immediately invalidates the whole poll because it wasn't her.

And you wonder why the government, the electorial process, and the media are SO effed up.

The people I meet in this business
So yesterday while working out at our Livermore store, I met Peter Coyote; http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001075/
Turns out he is a classic BMW motorcycle collector. And we are rebuilding his daily rider (an R90).
And he is a really nice guy.

Ok, for all of you who I know who are on Face/palm/plan/book/whatever, I now have an acount.
I blame my boss/work for EVERYONE here at work is on Faceplant.
DO NOT expect me to post much after these first couple of days.
DO NOT expect me to know any more about your life than what you last told me to my face.
DO NOT expect me to know who you are if all I know you is by your LJ user name.

From the "and you wonder why?" dept.
I had this shoved in my face at the end of the dot-com era when I was forced out of my job.

    http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Outofwork-job-applicants-told-cnnm-3498252371.html?x=0

Basically those in the hiring market DO NOT want to interview, talk or take resumes from those who currently do not have a job.
    Because?
"there must be a reason you lost your job, and it's probably because you suck" is putting it in a nutshell.
Sad thing is that this is not a valid reasoning, but don't tell that to HR.

Others may buy diamonds for thier wives, I...
On the other hand buy mine motorcycles.

It's a 1998 Yamaha Virago 1100. 36,000 miles on the clock. Garage kept by the previous 2 owners. Corbin seat.
The PO traded it in for a new BMW and I picked it up for a grotesque steal (sub $600).

Now, some of you may think me insane seeing I got her to sell her last bike a few years ago. But there is madness to my method. As some of you know, she had a heart attack on that old Kawi 600. And there were too many memories tied into that traumatic time. Every she got on that bike all she could think of was the pain and having to ride for 5 miles before finding help.
This bike does not have that association.
Now all I have to do is add a windscreen and saddle bags.
    :)

    R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio
    Icon of heavy metal.
    Shortest man in heavy metal.
Was able to fill/replace Ozzy's shoes twice for Black Sabbath/Heaven And Hell.

    Hey California voters
Just remember this article when it's time to get rid of this waste of air.

Just what we don't need, Pelosi and the catholic church together. Talk about the NEED for separation of church and state.

Obama to the Commie's; Suck it!
Not really, but close enough for government work.
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37045685/ns/world_news-europe/
I would have loved to see this. Not only did we win the Cold War (thank you Misters Nixon and Reagan with help from Mrs. Thatcher), but our boys got to put the icing on the cake.
    :)
Also thanks to Mr. Obama for making sure this happened.

    Stephen Hawkings; smart man but...
I am not sure I totally agree with him.
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100425/sc_afp/scienceastronomyextraterrestrialhawking
I do understand his point of what happened to native beings in places where more advanced man has moved in; America, Australia, etc.
And maybe I am too much a romantic when it comes to finding alien life among the stars. Maybe I have watched too much Star Trek and the like.
But damnit!, I WANT to see us get off this rock and go out there among the stars!!!!!
If we stay here, we are doomed.
